CYPRESS ANNOUNCES TRUNKS FOR TEACHERS
Although the Holocaust occurred
over sixty years ago and many monumental milestones of the civil rights
movement were happening fifty years ago, the lessons from these dramatic
periods in our history are still necessary for today's students.
Besides teaching the historical and cultural significance of these major
events, it is essential to make students aware of personal responsibility
and moral courage. To this end, CYPRESS, The Committee to Promote
Respect in Schools, has created a new program initiative, TRUNKS
FOR TEACHERS, to bring relevant materials to your students.
Classroom language arts and
social studies teachers in middle and high schools now have the opportunity
to borrow carefully selected, educationally appropriate materials-fiction
and non-fiction books, resource tools including maps, posters, and reference
books, audio-visual materials and teacher resources-all packed in
a trunk and ready to go! All you need to add is a motivated teacher
and a classroom of students.
Check out our Policies and Procedures to find out how you can borrow a trunk for your classroom.
