shoah.evpl.org - The Evansville Public Library is the home of 115 visual testimonies of Holocaust survivors from Indiana, Kentucky and Southern Illinois, collected by Steven Spielberg's Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation. This collection was purchased by CYPRESS in 2005.
usc.edu/schools/college/vhi - Steven Spielberg has transferred his entire collection of more than 50,000 testimonies of Holocaust survivors and witnesses to the University of Southern California. They are responsible for the development of educational programming through the use of the visual histories.
facinghistory.org - "Facing History and Ourselves" is a Boston-based organization devoted to using history to teach lessons of tolerance and social responsibility. They offer teacher workshops based on not only the Holocaust, but also civil rights history, as well as on-going genocides in the Sudan and Darfur.
raoulwallenberg.org - Raoul Wallenberg is a Swedish diplomat who was responsible for saving more than 100,000 Jewish lives during World War II. The Raoul Wallenberg Foundation created a program called, "A Study of Heroes," which was presented in a teacher workshop by CYPRESS in 2002. Over 60 Tri-State schools currently own the curriculum kits, compliments of The Committee to Promote Respect in Schools.
oklahomacitynationalmemorial.org - The Oklahoma City Memorial is dedicated to the memory of those killed in the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Building in Oklahoma City. Evansville native, Larry Mackey, prosecuted Timothy McVeigh, the convicted bomber. CYPRESS brought Mr. Mackey to Evansville in 2001 at which time he spoke to students and teachers about the dangers of bullying and its impact on young people.
