HEART stands for Helping Everyone with Anti-Bullying, Respect and Tolerance.
The name truly captures the goal of the HEART Project…to give children, parents, caregivers, school staff and youth group leaders the skills they need to build respect and relationships…and prevent bullying.
HEART is an original collection of tools, activities and materials written by school teachers. The collection contains lessons and activities that are appropriate for every grade and age. Some of the activities are designed to take a few minutes, perhaps at the beginning of the day, others are a little more involved.
All of the HEART materials are based on the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), and those standards are listed on each of the lessons.
CYPRESS encourages teachers to use these materials in the classroom, but they are also appropriate for parents, caregivers and other people who work with children.
CYPRESS worked with the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation and other area schools to coordinate and sponsor the creation of the HEART Project.
